The Collar and the Yoke is a developing art and research project focused on land, labor, capitalism, and energy regimes in Western Montana.

An exhibition of this work—which includes photography, ceramic sculpture, and a found object installation—will run from February 16-March 20 in the Helen E. Copeland Gallery at Montana State University. This project has received NCECA’s 2026 Helene Zucker Seeman Fellowship, which will result in an artist book in fall, 2026.

Please check back in late February for more information and exhibition images.
