Pure space is how the poet and cultural critic Octavio Paz described America.

Many of these bas-reliefs were based off of artifacts found in the Smithsonian digital archives of American material culture.

Ceramic, wood, cone 4 oxidation. Each individual tile is 21 × 21 in.
