She Who Vomited Out Her Own Metals is a 2023-2024 project.

This project went hand-in-hand with a two-day symposium exploring post-natural perspectives in geology at the University of Kansas. The symposium, titled New Geologies: Xeno-Earth, was co-organized by myself and Associate Professor of Sculpture, Steve Gurysh. Invited speakers included artist John Roloff, curator Oscar Salguero, and KU planetary scientist Claire Marshall. In addition to a panel discussion, field trip, and reading group event, this symposium brought together a two-week exhibition of works—selections from Salguero’s Neo-Mineralia Library and Roloff’s flags and photographs—housed within the KU Geology Department. Exhibition design for Oscar Salguero’s Neo-Mineralia Library was carried out by Steve Gurysh’s digital design class.
